LCM are passionate about sharing the love of God and good news of Jesus Christ with the least reached in London, and to do this in partnership with churches. To help us do that, we have developed a set of values which shape the way we work and relate with each other, with the church and with the people and communities we engage with.
ROOTED IN CHRIST
Prayerfully dedicated to doing God’s will and living his way, according to his word.
CHRIST-LIKE LOVE
Looking not to our own interests but to the interests of others because we are united as brothers and sisters in Christ.
GOD-GLORIFYING EXCELLENCE
Pursuing the best that we can be to glorify God and serve each other in all we do.
SPIRIT-INSPIRED PERSEVERANCE AND COURAGE
Standing firm, pushing through, paying the price for the sake of Christ and the gospel.
Canal Ministries' boaters are generally cruising, we cannot necessarily provide ongoing, long-term support. But, we are often the first link in the chain. We will give immediate help wherever needed and possible. In situations where ongoing assistance is required, we will ensure appropriate connections are made to relevant local agencies and organisations. As cruising boaters ourselves, we are often well placed to get alongside other boaters in difficulties.
Some members of the team are all-year-round Continuous Cruisers, some over-winter in a fixed location and some have a very localised ministry. Each works according to God's calling and the gifts with which they have been blessed. Two members have been called to a very specific ministry in residential homes in the Tamworth area. Every one of the team, no matter where their ministry or what their specific calling, has an important part to play.
Grace Baptist Mission is a church-based mission, helping Grace Baptist churches to support and care for their missionaries worldwide.
We are based in the United Kingdom, with our Mission Centre in Abingdon, and we work with local churches to support their missionaries in more than a dozen countries in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia.
We also have a radio ministry producing Bible-teaching programmes for listeners in both English and French, based in our radio studios in Abingdon and broadcast over numerous Christian radio stations worldwide.
From this we have also developed a worldwide literature ministry, providing resources to thousands of local churches in the developing world.
Open Doors works in over 60 countries, supplying Bibles, training church leaders, providing practical support and emergency relief, and supporting Christians who suffer for their faith. In the UK and Ireland Open Doors works to raise awareness of global persecution, mobilising prayer, support and action among Christians.
Formerly known as Christian Witness to Israel, the IMJP is a UK-based interdenominational evangelistic society committed to sharing the Good News of Jesus the Messiah with the Jewish people. Like the apostle Paul, they reason from the Hebrew Scriptures to demonstrate and prove that the Messiah must suffer and rise from the dead and that Jesus is the Messiah, the Saviour of the world promised through the ancient Jewish prophets.
Wycliffe Bible Translators was founded in 1953. Currently we have 363 people from the UK and Ireland serving 486 million people speaking 368 languages in 71 countries.
They are a member of the Wycliffe Global Alliance, and partner with organisations worldwide in working towards universal access to the Bible.
The full Bible is now available in close to 700 languages, and the New Testament in over 1,500 languages. But with 1.5 billion people still without access to the full Bible in the language that speaks to them best, their vision of universal access is far from a reality, and the need for translation remains as great as ever.
A desire for others to stand with us in larger attempts has led to the formation of Grace Baptist Partnership. The partnership aims to bring together representatives of our various Grace Baptist constituencies for concerted prayer and joint endeavour in the area of church planting.
The organization’s name, Grace Baptist Partnership and its strap line explains it all.
“Grace” reflects the soteriology of the group. They joyfully affirm the doctrines of grace.
“Baptist” reflects the group’s ecclesiology. They unashamedly hold to Baptist distinctives including a baptised membership and a disciplined table.
“Partnership” reflects the group’s methodology. They desire true partnership in the gospel—one that recognizes the interdependence of the churches without sacrificing their independency.
The strap line, helping churches plant churches, clarifies that the partnership itself will not plant churches. Rather, it will use its experience in church planting to help churches plant churches in their respective areas and beyond.
